The countdown box is a beloved tradition in the fiber community. Cesium has decided to count down to Halloween, Samhain, All Hallows Eve, or whatever celebration you bring to cross the October 31/November 1 threshold. And we've decided to do it with a bit of mystery. Come with us on a 31-day investigation inspired by Clue. Each day you will open a package with a new piece of evidence in it. Throughout the month, piece together the clues to identify the guest, the weapon, and the location involved in the murder.

Your box will include 31 individual packages to be opened each day in the month of October. You will receive 24 twenty-gram mini skeins, each in a different colorway designed especially for the box, one full 100-gram skein, and a variety of other goodies including custom stitch markers from Twin Mountain Handcrafts, wool wash formulated by Stitchery and Co. especially for the box, a project bag made with fabric designed by the Cesium team, and a few other goodies. All the yarn in the Clue box is on our Merino sock base.

This is a preorder for the 2023 fall season. Your box will ship to you in mid-September 2023. 

Countdown Box

Countdown boxes are designed to be opened at a certain time. Your box will ship a few weeks before the beginning of the countdown period, regardless of when you place your order.

Hand-Dyed Colors

We do our best to take our photos under consistent conditions so you can accurately compare colorways. Different monitors show colors differently, so results may vary based on your computer screen. As with all hand-dyed yarns, variation from skein to skein is normal and to be expected. If you are ordering multiple skeins of the same colorway, we will dye them together or consecutively to minimize variation, but please consider alternating between the skeins throughout your work for the most consistent finished object.

Care Instructions

All yarn is pre-washed in our studio to minimize color bleeding, but should be washed separately or with like colors for the first several washes. We always suggest washing your finished objects by hand in cool water and allowing them to air dry for best results.

Cesium Yarn fibers are dyed in a pet-free studio in a smoke-free, pet-friendly home. Please contact us if you have any questions.
