"Fuchsia flowers are the most special flowers in the world. But only when they have purple underpants. That is to say, only when they have inner petals that are purple. 

What’s wrong with fuchsia flowers that have white, or even pink underpants? Well, nothing. Except I hate them. Because they just aren’t special. They need purple underpants for that. 

The fuchsia bush that guards the entrance to the cabin is older than my parents. As a little girl, I’d sit at the base of the stairs and play with the fuchsia flowers. In my mind, they were fairies and ballerinas. Their beauty was unmatched. My grandmother tells me the fuchsia bush was planted by my great-grandmother. The blooms are the biggest I’ve ever seen; that’s what happens when you let something–or someone—establish its roots. 

The cabin is where my roots live, and I think they are wound around my heart and tied directly to that fuchsia bush with the flowers that have purple underpants."

Dyed-to-order colorways are made especially for you and have a turnaround time of up to four weeks. If you need something faster, browse our ready-to-ship colorways.

Hand-Dyed Colors

We do our best to take our photos under consistent conditions so you can accurately compare colorways. Different monitors show colors differently, so results may vary based on your computer screen. As with all hand-dyed yarns, variation from skein to skein is normal and to be expected. If you are ordering multiple skeins of the same colorway, we will dye them together or consecutively to minimize variation, but please consider alternating between the skeins throughout your work for the most consistent finished object.

Care Instructions

All yarn is pre-washed in our studio to minimize color bleeding, but should be washed separately or with like colors for the first several washes. We always suggest washing your finished objects by hand in cool water and allowing them to air dry for best results.
