"The cabin rests under a canopy of Shore Pine and Spruce trees. This makes for beautiful views and crisp air, but it also creates a problem: pinecones. Well, not really a problem… more of an opportunity. Grandma hates the pinecones; she always has. One summer, she made me an offer I couldn’t refuse! Handing me a large paper bag, she told me, “for every pinecone you pick up, you’ll earn a penny.”
I scoured the yard, the ivy patch, under the deck, and behind the house. I got every pinecone that I saw, every pinecone that ever existed. It felt like every pinecone that anyone has ever dreamt of was in my bag, and I earned $10 that day.
Join us for the next few days leading up to the preorder on September 1st to see all the parts of the cabin. Can’t wait to see the rest of the colors? Check out the video that’s live on the Rachelisknitting YouTube channel.
The pinecones still don’t bother me, but boy do I feel rich whenever I see them."

We do our best to take our photos under consistent conditions so you can accurately compare colorways. Different monitors show colors differently, so results may vary based on your computer screen. As with all hand-dyed yarns, variation from skein to skein is normal and to be expected. If you are ordering multiple skeins of the same colorway, we will dye them together or consecutively to minimize variation, but please consider alternating between the skeins throughout your work for the most consistent finished object.
All yarn is pre-washed in our studio to minimize color bleeding, but should be washed separately or with like colors for the first several washes. We always suggest washing your finished objects by hand in cool water and allowing them to air dry for best results.
Cesium Yarn fibers are dyed in a pet-free studio in a smoke-free, pet-friendly home. Please contact us if you have any questions.
