"Have you ever heard the click of a door latch that has been opened and closed since 1941? I have. I’d know it anywhere. It’s one of the most distinct sounds in my memory. It’s the sound of the cabin doors.

This sound signals that the trip’s resident sleepyhead (a title that shifts ownership from trip to trip) is ready to start the day. Or maybe that it’s time to go get the beach toys from the bedroom closet and head to the sand. It also chimes at the end of each day, when the kids are put to bed and the cozy evenings with a glass of wine and roaring fire can begin. The door latch says it all. It’s a good sound.

Those iron door handles go in the museum of my heart, but they’re not the only iron fixtures that you’ll see in the cabin. Look up. At the top of each picture window rests an iron curtain rod. Solid pieces of hardware that somehow seem to knit the walls of the cabin together.

Dyed to Order

Dyed-to-order colorways are made especially for you and have a turnaround time of up to four weeks. If you need something faster, browse our ready-to-ship colorways.

Hand-Dyed Colors

We do our best to take our photos under consistent conditions so you can accurately compare colorways. Different monitors show colors differently, so results may vary based on your computer screen. As with all hand-dyed yarns, variation from skein to skein is normal and to be expected. If you are ordering multiple skeins of the same colorway, we will dye them together or consecutively to minimize variation, but please consider alternating between the skeins throughout your work for the most consistent finished object.

Care Instructions

All yarn is pre-washed in our studio to minimize color bleeding, but should be washed separately or with like colors for the first several washes. We always suggest washing your finished objects by hand in cool water and allowing them to air dry for best results.
