"Walk in the cabin, and it’s the first thing you see. It’s watched over my family for 82 years. Solemn, strong, and wise: the fireplace. 

Upon its mantle, knick knacks turned into heirlooms. Like the cast iron Amish couple (I always thought they were pilgrims) that I’ve gotten into the habit of searching eBay for. 

The pop and crackle of its fires are as familiar a sound as the clink of the cabin’s fixtures. It’s the epicenter of the cabin’s warmth, and I don’t just mean literally. 

Running my fingers along the bricks, tossing in a tissue (sneakily) and watching it curl up in flames, learning how friction works by (again, sneakily) flicking a match against the bricks and hearing it whoosh alight. May these tactile memories  never cease. Let’s hope for another 82 years of the fireplace keeping watch."

Fireplace is a cool-toned, stone-colored base with warm brick reds and light browns throughout. The Cabin Collection is dyed especially for you and will ship within four weeks of your order.

Dyed to Order

Dyed-to-order colorways are made especially for you and have a turnaround time of up to four weeks. If you need something faster, browse our ready-to-ship colorways.

Hand-Dyed Colors

We do our best to take our photos under consistent conditions so you can accurately compare colorways. Different monitors show colors differently, so results may vary based on your computer screen. As with all hand-dyed yarns, variation from skein to skein is normal and to be expected. If you are ordering multiple skeins of the same colorway, we will dye them together or consecutively to minimize variation, but please consider alternating between the skeins throughout your work for the most consistent finished object.

Care Instructions

All yarn is pre-washed in our studio to minimize color bleeding, but should be washed separately or with like colors for the first several washes. We always suggest washing your finished objects by hand in cool water and allowing them to air dry for best results.
